Dr. José Antonio Muñoa Prado

Dr. José Antonio Muñoa Prado is a certified vascular surgeon. He specializes in general surgery, angiology, vascular and endovascular surgery with a special emphasis in diabetic foot and limb preservation strategies.

Dr Muñoa Prado got his medical degree from Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico. He also completed a general surgery residency and vascular surgery residency for the Autonomous University of Mexico. He finished his endovascular training with a subspeciality on diabetic foot in Milano, Italia. He is the former president of the Mexican Diabetic Foot Association and the Mexican Society of Angiology, Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. Dr. Muñoz Prado also founded the Mexican Diabetic Foot Institute. He is currently the chief of vascular surgery at San Lucas Hospital in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas and CEO at Clinica Venart.

Dr. Muñoa Prado research interests include in new techniques and technologies in arterial and venous diseases, strategies to reduce amputations and health care systems to marginalized communities.
